I am watching the old original ROBOCOP movie, which supposedly took place in FUTURE DETROIT (of course, not filmed here though) which reminded me of the Guy who created a supersized ROBOCOP statue that he wanted to donate to the City of Detroit to put on display somewhere and decades on people still fighting over whether it should be put on display or not.
Now, we have that damn dumb JOE LOUIS' FIST eyesore Downtown Detroit... Now, don't get me wrong, Joe Louis was important to/for the City, BUT/HOWEVER that Fist is MORONIC EYESORE that everyone just ignores. Naming former, now demolished, Joe Louis Arena (where Wings played) was good - the Fist is an embaressment in the minds of many. No-one pays it any attention.
Where-as the ROBOCOP statue would be an attraction. Something "different" and "unique" that the discussion of the Statue alone brought a lot of attention to/for the City, yet many resist it. They appear to be fine with burnt out decayed neighborhoods being on display for all to see, but that would be "tacky" (or what)?!?!
Send CINOs/RINOs a monopoly money message vlog!
