but you let your Kid WHINE AND MOAN AND NAG you into going to another place that will cost $30 for the 2 of you.
BUT, you manage to negotiate DOWN to yet another place for $20.
YOU DID NOT SAVE $10
You spent MORE, not less, from the original $10 you actually had and could actually afford
Now, it gets even worse if then in order to COVER that EXTRA $10 MORE you're Spending you cannot afford YOU PUT THE ENTIRE $20 on your Credit Card rather than paying the $10 Cash and Charging the extra $10. NOW you have added $20 to your DEBT (and you'll likely then still spend that other $10 on something else and therefore be out $30) and that $20 turns into $21, $22, $25, as INTEREST COMPOUNDS on the Debt you're NOT PAYING DOWN.
It IS that SIMPLE to understand what is happening in DC.
