As stated in the embedded Video down-thread that this piece is based upon - What's good for the Goose, good for the Gander --- IF they Tariff us, why shouldn't we engage in RECIPROCAL Tariffs. EQUAL Trade, FAIR Trade, not USA are Suckers Trade.
And beside and beyond that, you use the TOOLS you have! Hey Lefties, WOULD YOU PREFER ARMED CONFLICT? to try resolve our AMERICA HAS BEEN SUCKERS on short end of Trade Policy for decades!!!
WHERE I PART WAYS WITH TRUMP is that slapping the highest level Tariff to “supposedly” due tit-for-tat EQUAL reciprocal balance I think is OVER-BOARD. If indeed you want the THREAT OF TARIFFS TIME TO WORK, as these things cannot happen overnight (like much more Manufacturing move back within US borders, it will take YEARS for that to happen), so the threat of ESCALATING TARIFFS is enough IMO and should start with 5%, then go to 10% in 6mo’s, then 20% in 12 mo’s if things are NOT BUDGING toward real FAIRER Trade, then up to 25%-35% if need be DOWN THE ROAD but NOT RIGHT OFF THE BAT!!! To me that is counter-productive and just not realistic but I understand Trump only has 4 years and he wants bring MAXIMUM PRESSURE TO BARE ASAP.
Also, just for sake of discussion, let’s talk “Trade Imbalance” with Canada. You cannot measure that dollar for dollar. Our Economy/GDP is infinitely GREATER and we have FAR MORE PEOPLE here in USA so OBVIOUSLY they have greater opportunity to sell more in USA than USA can sell into the smaller Canadian Market. There will ALWAYS be a dollar to dollar imbalance, what matters is perhaps PERCENT GDP comparisons, or indeed I agree with Trump ultimately and EVENTUALLY (again, IMO, not need JUMP THERE AT GET GO) to exact and 100% EQUAL/RECIPROCAL Tariff levels. Jumping straight to 25%* is TOO MUCH STRAIN ALL AT ONCE and need be spread out and implemented in PHASES/STAGES!!!

Figuring out just what EXACTLY is going to be most interesting to more and rack up more views (on #video platforms) or listens (across my 25+ #audio platforms) of my Show episodes is rather "INTERESTING" to say the least. Something may HIT, but then something similar be a complete MISS, and vice-versa something a seemingly complete dud first go 'round but a similar follow-up TAKES OFF.
