Subject: I can't believe what I saw at tonight's council meeting

Hello this is Joseph Lenard who lobbied on behalf of holy cow creamery tonight. Some of the contradictory commentary out of Council tonight was hilarious....

Thank you for being a voice of reason. I don't understand, and clearly you didn't either, why it was such a big deal but it was absolutely a matter for council because a waiver as I pointed out had to be provided and as Chris Calvin even conceded during the meeting that someone else dismissively stated didn't understand why it was before Council, if so should not be on Council.. It was a WAIVER ISSUE, Council had to approve/deny.

I find it utterly unbelievable that a solution that the city engineer checked off on and put the recommendation before the council that Tyler agreed to and councilman alderman even let out of the bag when he said it doesn't matter what Wyandotte electric wants or doesn't want but he had spoken with them today anyway and admitted, supposedly, on the official record of the meeting, that Wyandotte electric did not object to the proposed solution as put forth by the engineer, recommended by the engineer, to the council. Yet there were four people who decided to interject themselves, completely unnecessarily, a massive overreach, and dictate a solution that goes against what again council alderman pointed out everyone agreed to, but instead a whole different set of measure that was not before Council was dictated.

The recommendation before council, that council was supposed to address and actually approve or deny, completely ignored (again, just like last meeting, just like all of last year)...

I cannot wait to pull that little piece of video from tonight's council meeting of councilman alderman stating he spoke with Wyandotte electric and they agreed with the proposal that was before the council yet the council refused to accept the recommendation that all parties agreed to. The four had to impose a completely different solution upon this situation. I will be sharing that little snippet and an explanation of what else happened with everyone I know in Wyandotte.

There absolutely, IMO, was some other kind of outside influence (or internal quibble on the Council to complicate the issue on this because again, and can't be expressed enough times, all parties including supposedly wyandotte electric agreed to a solution that was then abjectly ignored and in my opinion a veiled threat to harass holy cow creamery customers who decide to park in that alleyway that has been abandoned and closed and unused for decades was made.

And even mayor pro tem desena acknowledged this was/is, as was one of my points, an issue since last year, and this proposal and solution agreed upon available and could have been resolved last year. The imposed solution will create a traffic hazard with far more driveway exposed into the parking lot people pulling in and out of endangering the people walking as well as the vehicles already parked. Why not then just cement over the entire easement and have everyone haphazardly ignoring the currently well-defined driveways way in and way out.

Four members, IMO, of the council kept deflecting (discussing the trash cans? how about the actual City engineering departments proposal in front of you?) and trying to do anything and everything to change the subject from the actual agreed upon resolution put forth by City engineering and which lay before you all to simply rubber-stamp - as again the party's agreed to but again for people looking on because I will be copying this and publishing it elsewhere, sent engineering recommendation was completely ignored -- why was it even ever referred to the engineers in the first place if council was going to just dream up what the solution would be on their terms rather than the parties involved terms.

Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android dictated using Google Assistant so please pardon any obviously incorrectly chosen words and or misspellings and or improper spellings of people's names and obvious mess of punctuation (I cleaned up a bit, but did not obsess over) but I think you'll know what I'm saying.

Thank you again for being the sole voice of reason it is again beyond me how everybody, outside of Council, and again claimed by alderman even wyandotte electric has no problem with, supposedly agrees yet four people had to ignore the recommendation and impose conditions that were not under consideration before the Council - again, repeat, and as you pointed out, why the big deal if everyone agrees do you deny the solution and now instead create new potential hazards to holy cow customers should the Council "solution" be carried out!

I will be remembering when I Vote on May 4. This has swayed, changed, what would have been a few of my Votes and those of several I previously spoke to and I know will react the same as I.

The prepared speech I gave tonight at Council...

I know and you know that the issue for holy cow creamery is one of needing a waiver, and now everyone watching at home and saw the last council meeting has proper context to last meeting, and is probably wondering (like I am) why you blew off the Holy Cow Creamery agenda item.

Further I know and you know, that the city engineer, nor the city clerk, nor anyone else in Wyandotte can grant the waiver, and now the people at home are going to know that you all had the recommendation of the relevant City departments agreeing that this council should grant holy cow creamery an exemption and allow them to proceed, fully bearing the costs, there will be not one penny of City taxpayer money spent on this, to enact the recommendation before you.

I know, and everyone who's gone to holy cow creamery knows, that this is an issue of public safety. What I don't know, and want you to explain to me and everyone watching at home, is why you refused to act the last time on this public safety measure to protect Wyandotte residents from being injured before and whether you are going to try and put it off again.

A solution has been presented, it is before you for a 2nd time, and (again) agreed upon by relevant City departments, and the recommendation was in front of you the last time yet you gave holy cow creamery the runaround.

Please explain to me and all those watching at home why, if you try to pigeonhole this yet again, you refuse to act to ensure the safety and well-being of fellow Wyandotte residents that does not involve any taxpayer dollars and the full cost bourne by the holy cow creamery.

Please explain to me and the viewers at home why you failed to act last time and why you oppose this simple solution to protect Wyandotte residents well-being if you intend to do so yet again today.

I know and you know you should grant this waiver immediately, and the people at home wait to hear a real explanation, not just trying to sweep it under the carpet, if in fact that is your plan to repeat like last meeting.

Joseph Lenard, Mulberry St. (just a stone’s throw from Holy Cow), Wyandotte
