) approached me via NEXTDOOR "For Sale & Free" claiming to want to buy something I have listed. Said she sent payment via PayPal, what I got was a SPAM PHISHING FRAUD email from a "[email protected]
" email address, which is of course NOT VALID Paypal email address. Never, EVER, click on links in an email supposedly from ANY SOURCE - login directly only to a known valid/good website you know and have used before manually to investigate validity of any claim of having sent money or whatever else.
This has been Reported to Paypal, Nextdoor, as well as all screenshots of online communications being sent to FBI and State Of Michigan FRAUD CRIME units.
THE SCAM is that they attempted to send whatever money but get an error, and the phishing scam email is SUPPOSED to back up their scam/con and would take you to an invalid scam site to get your banking info OR they claim (as they did here) my account supposedly has "limits" (which it does not) on it and they would need to send $150 and me REFUND them the difference, which IF any of us fall for it would mean you'd be out whatever you send them in the scam (no idea where they would have expected me to send money to, I never let it get that far to find out, as it was at that point a clear and obvious scam/con).
IF you use Paypal, it is best to setup and use exclusively a PAYPAL.ME/youruserid
rather than giving an email address to them (which was my first hing it was not legit that they wanted to send via Paypal using my address associated with it) instead of the simple/easier/safer PAYPAL.ME/whomever
option.
Send CINOs/RINOs a monopoly money message vlog!
This tells them more than you just hanging up on their Calls, use their postage-paid reply to envelopes against them!
