Listen, I want to be FAIR,
McCarthy is certainly far better than the last Republican Speaker,
certainly falls far short of Newt Gingrich (who, admittedly, with The Contract For America, only promised up/down Votes not passage of our entire agenda (and, no-one can assure passage of anything) but at least kept "most" of his word (we did not get Spending Cuts A to Z as promised Votes we should have) and yes Newt did work with Clinton to REDUCE SPENDING but let's be clear there was NEVER a fully balanced Budget just many things moved off-Budget and Deficits while reducing were still adding to the Debt every year)
but SORRY he is NOT GOOD ENOUGH (he has NOT kept ENOUGH OF his promises, when gifted Speakership*)
and yes TO BE FAIR TO HIM, he does not have a "big margin" majority in USHouse, and that indeed does make things a bit more difficult - but at same time that affords us real Conservatives MORE LEVERAGE*; and again to be fair we only control the House and not the USSenate so we can do all kinds of things that will never, ever, even see the USSenate floor (never get out of Committee) so like or not that is reality and must be factored!!! Yes, we want to force FASCICRATS to be on Record Voting against things we know the American People want but understanding anything and everything will be watered down in House/Senate Conference negotiation markup sessions (again, IF any particular Bill ever sees light of day in USSenate) to have any chance of anything getting final passage for sending to a FASCICRATS POTUS.
WE ALL need do more in 2024 to increase our margin of control of USHouse, and must get control of USSenate (and insist someone other than McConnel be Leader), as well as win White House!! McCarthy is, and not without reasonable concern, trying to protect some "on the edge" seat-holders (like fellow Michiganian John James who, he like others, barely won their seat) and indeed YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE HOUSE AGENDA (pass any of your priorities, let-alone what this faction or that faction within our BIG TENT PARTY (unlike lock-step FASCICRATS Party)) without having the numbers to control the Chamber and he is, rightly or wrongly can be debated, worried about NEXT SESSION and holding the House let-alone hoping in Presidential Election year we may increase our margin (and take USSenate) so-as to be able to get anything done IF indeed we can/do take back the White House.
