Derek was talking last weeks #USFL #MICHIGAN #PANTHERS Win (and clearly much improved Team over last year) as well as the opportunity to talk about last years disappointment Season after having Won the USFL Championship in the original incarnation of the League.
I called in and discussed such, before Derek went into the USFL CHAMPIONS PANTHERS 1980's Season and brought up Novo Bojovic... So, I emailed him after the Show...
I wanted to call back in after you brought up Novo.
We used to tease him as "NoToe" but reality is he's earned his Flowers.
Anyone that lasts several Seasons in the ArenaFootballLeague as Novo did with/for The Detroit Drive IS A GOOD KICKER (despite not getting NFL chance) with that added pressure indoors tight field and quicker/faster players coming at him and the only 9' wide uprights (those who couldn't cut it under Game pressures, were quickly replaced in a week or few). I'd love to see the NFL Kickers trying that and see "just how well they can handle REAL PRESSURE?!!?" And, of course, Kickers have it even harder/tougher than QB's regarding NFL chances (and all the other slots, plenty of chance to move from one Line position (Offense and/or Defense) and another, plenty of Receivers are carried on Teams, etc.) because Teams generally carry a couple QB's (though one often the Starter and gets all attention/glory) where-as tons of High-School Kickers, get widdled down with few NCAA slots, and then the VERY FEW actual NFL slots for them to compete for.

We discuss FOOTBALL in this episode too... And CLEARLY Kevin is NOT much of a real/die-hard Football fan (only that which he can make a buck from himself) and somewhat elitist snob (IMO) where-as real hardcore/diehard Footballers LOVE and want to see much, much, more, Football, like we can and do get with the AFL, XFL, USFL, and more Leagues (yes, sure, NOT all those Players are GREAT, but spare me the "they are all bad" garbage when I saw an XFL game the other day and "HELMET CATCH" that rivaled the NFL SuperBowl Game Helmet catch everyone still raves about (plus remember Herschel Walker got his start in original USFL, and many others in AFL, XFL, USFL, AAFL, UFL, other Leagues, went on to have very good careers after getting start in those supposed "Lessor" Leagues)). PLUS that the AVERAGE FAMILY can actually afford Season-Tickets to those Leagues and have a full Spring/Summer of fun for less than the cost of JUST ONE GAME to/of/by/at seeing the overpaid whining kneeling buffoons.
