I almost switched from DISH to DirectTv 2 years ago because DISH isn't carrying Bally Sports Detroit (so I have to stream Red Wing games on my Rveal Android box using KODI instead) but I am so glad I didn't switch. The issue, is that DISNEY owns/operates many of the Sports channels now and tried to extort Carriers during negotiations cuz they now own/operate so many channels. DirectTv is way more expensive too, so I stayed with DISH. My other option, my local Cable provider, that is way more than both Sat providers -- and I want a DVR to record things with, or I'd have completely gone to Streaming alone long ago.
I am NOT HAPPY not having BSD on my Hopper, but I do have NEWSMAX, and if more switch to DISH and join in my chorus that we DEMAND OANN be carried too (one of the other reasons I threatened to leave DISH, but then DirectTv dropped OAN too) we can likely get it added to the lineup also.
