I just heard on the Radio that the DETROIT GRAND PRIX is finally, Finally, FINALLY, returning from Belle Isle back to the DOWNTOWN DETROIT STREETS in 2023 where it has always belonged!
I worked Downtown Detroit those early Grand Prix years, AND THEY WERE GREAT!!! Yes, massive Traffic disruption and Parking issues... BUT THESE ARE NOT THE SAME TIMES as then as there is far more to SHOWCASE DOWNTOWN (not just the tired old RenCen (from late 70's/80's shine long gone) and I'm NOT just talking about the newer Arena/Stadiums many new/great RESTORED BUILDINGS for home/office use) with far more available Parking options to handle the temporary shifts/reductions!!!
I love my GRAND PRIX VI jacket I still proudly wear, as that was the last Downtown Detroit Grand Prix! Question is, is it going to go INTERNATIONAL again with FORMULA-1 or not and just remain with INDY-CARS?!?!?
THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS of course, and I anxiously await to see/hear the specifics.
