It is EARLY for this discussion, but I'm going to go there anyway...
As part of my vetting of the MANY Gubernatorial Candidates we have vying for MIGOP Primary nomination for MIGOV in 2022 Election, I have what I believe a very important and telling Question that I expect an Answer (not a Dodge, or skirting, real Answer) to....
Several of your fellow Primary opponents* would be obvious choices to be on a short-list for Lt. Gov, but who aside from those also running for MIGOP nomination for Governor in 2022 is a top name, or a few names, you would want the Convention Delegates** to consider on short-list for Lt. Gov to/for you consideration?!?!?
And, frankly, if I don't hear one particular name (I'm not going to mention the name, so a Candidate cannot read this and just tell me what they then know I want to hear, and for you their may be a few names you have in your mind) among those on their list, I will NOT consider voting for them in the Primary. This, to me, is a very important Question, as to me it tells me whether or not a Candidate has thought through who would be a solid LG they could, would, be able to delegate an issue or set of issues to - rather than have the LG seat be a worthless, do-nothing, wasted, opportunity (as is almost always the case)! Do they want a TRUE RUNNING MATE and PARTNER going into Battle with them in Lansing or just going through the motions of having a LG pick as a necessary evil but won't be taken serious by them following the Election?
- Tudor Dixon is high on my consideration list for MIGOV, and would certainly (among those Running for the MIGovernorship itself) therefore be high on my LG wish-list if she does not get the Gov nomination herself.
** as the LG Candidate, in-so-far as the MI GOP goes, is determined/picked by Convention Delegates (as touched on in: https://www.12cdrc.org/micd12gop-take-action-as-a-delegate) NOT the Gubernatorial Candidate himself or herself (though, the MIGov Candidate's choice is usually rubber-stamped as the pick at Convention (but there has been LG floor fights))!
